The Skinny: Last year's summer hit returns with covert operative Michael Westen continuing to take high-octane odd jobs in Miami while searching for answers about why his former employers want him "burned" (spy speak for "retired, for good").

The Good: Picking up where it left off last summer, the Season Two premiere reminds us why this show caught on: It's slick, funny, and loves to blow things up. Jeffrey Donovan makes Westen a likable (and more importantly, believable) spy, despite the distractions of a saucy ex-girlfriend (Gabrielle Anwar) and overbearing mother (Sharon Gless). But both (and the rest of the cast) are good for quick laughs.

The Bad: We need some answers already. Last season ended with Michael going off to meet someone to help solve the puzzle, but the new season kicks off with another set of hurdles to jump through before that becomes possible. We love the side missions, but let's advance the plot a little, OK?

Rising (Battle) Star: The show gets an extra kick in the pants this season with Battlestar Galactica's sexy Cylon Tricia Helfer joining the cast as Carla, the face (and hot body) behind the mysterious voice that's been barking orders to Michael on his cell phone.

Watch, Ignore, or Read a Book Instead? Check it out. It could be as close as you'll get to the beach this summer, paleface.
